Bioplastic / Moss Module
Within a research project funded by the European Regional Development Fund (EFRE) new semi-manufactured products of bio-plastics are generated for high end wall facings and panelling.
Therefore plates of bio-based raw materials are extruded. which are suitable for outdorr use without any covering. Because of this they can be recycled CO2 neutrally besides additives and disposed. The plates can be thermally three-dimensional deformed and allow free form sustainable wall facings in the future.
For the Hannover Fair were realised exemplary moss facade modules. The moss absorbes respirable dust as a fertiliser and transferes it in plant mass. Furthermore 1cm³ moss possesses a surface area of 0,17m² . This enlargement of the surface with factor 30 effectuates a high accustical absorbtion. Moss doesn´t need care and has to be watered only inside of buildings. The exhibit on Hannover Fair shows new possibilities of bio-based intra-urban facades at highly frequented roads.
